Like Teddy Sheringham and Berbatov before him, Spurs striker Pavlyuchenko has admitted he dreams of playing for Manchester United just a day before the Carling Cup final showdown between the two teams at Wembley. Fortunatley Berbatov is expected to be rested tommorrow (so it’s just Rooney, Tevez, Ronaldo, Giggs and the young star Danny Wellbeck we up against then!)
Meanwhile, the Russian playmaker Luka Modric says his rough upbringing has made him more than prepared for anything Manchester United can throw at him in tommorrow’s clash. Apparently when he was young his father didn’t even have the money to buy him shin pads.
Gomes looks set to start for Spurs and believes he is finally over the nightmare start he had with the club and is determined to show it and take home a winners medal after tommorrow’s match. Believing that many Spurs’ fans have long forgotten his tempremental start and now rate him as a legend, he is determined to repay thier support at Wembley.

Roman Pavlyuchenko could join an elite group of Tottenham Hotspurs legends who have scored in every round of a cup competition.
Pavlyuchenko has scored in all five Carling Cup ties this season with six goals including the vital118th minute strike against Burnley that earnt Tottenham Hotspurs a place in Sunday’s Cup final against Manchester United at Wembley.
If Pavlyuchenko, 27, scores he will become just the third Spurs player to complete the remarkable sequence.
Alex ‘Sandy’ Brown a 1901 FA Cup winner and John White who won the 1963 European Cup are the other two.

David Bentley’s chances of starting the Carling Cup final against Manchester United on Sunday have significantly improved after Harry Redknapp has left him out of the squad to face Shakhtar Donetsk in the the second leg of the UEFA cup tie tonight.
But Bentley could still lose his place to Jamie O’Hara on Sunday.
Since arriving from Blackburn, Bentley has done very little to warrant a place in the club’s biggest domestic match of the year (with the exception of his goal against Arsenal, he has been weak and showed a poor work rate). This has been noticed by Redknapp who has favoured the energy and bite of Jamie O’Hara – an example of the so called ’steel’ that Redknapp wanted and the reason behind signing Wilson Palacios from Wigan in January. Far too often Bentley will run (if you can call it that, it’s more of a stroll) with the ball and lose it, or release it with a misplaced pass. He always tries one too many touches or little flicks to, which rarely pay-off (mis-placed audacity and flair, and unfit are probably the best words to describe his performance at the Lane to date.) The free kicks and crossing ability which excelled at Blackburn and earnt him a couple of England caps in 2008 has been non-existant.
Alongside the league, the Cup final has been made a priority by Harry Redknapp. Does Bentley therefore really deserve a place?
O’Hara’s selection could free up Luka Modric to play in the hole.
Meanwhile, Woodgate’s position at the back has been secured after he shrugged off injury worries after he suffered a gash on the head at Hull on Monday night.

Spurs snatch three vital points with a last minute winner from Jonathan Woodgate.
Reminiscent of the Carling Cup final last year Woodgate headed home with minutes remaining ( 86th-minute) to take Spurs up two places to 14th, five points clear of the relegation zone.
Hull remain one place above, six points clear, but now haven’t won in ten league games.
A highlight video of last year’s Carling Cup win can be seen in Super Spurs favourite videos as part of our build up to Sunday’s final with Manchester UTD.

Lennon scored on 17 minute but Turner equalised ten minutes later.
Spurs have not lost this season in the Premiership after opening the scoring.
Spurs haven’t played at Hull since 1977 ( they lost.)

With just six wins in their 25 Premier League outtings this season, Spurs are hoping for a big performance against Hull tonight, kick-off at 8pm at the KC Stadium.
Lennon looks set to make a return tonight after missing an England under 21s call-up and our UEFA cup tie last week due to a slight groin injury he suffered in the Arsenal match.
Robbie Keane, RP and Vedran Corluka (all ineligible for the UEFA Cup) are all available as well. But Defoe and Alan Hutton remain out with their longer-term foot injuries.
Meanwhile, Dawson hopes to help Spurs beat his brother Andy and Hull City at the KC Stadium.
Dawson expected to face his brother for the first time in September when the Tigers visited the Lane but was left out by then manager Ramos. Hull City defeated Spurs by a goal to nil then and, to rub salt in the wound, they also went on to beat Arsenal with a stunning free kick for Geovanni.
Recent away games have been mirred with late goals but hopefully, M Dawson can settle a score tonight and help Spurs turn this around in a huge six pointer.
Since beating West Ham on December 8, Spurs suffered late losses at Newcastle, West Brom, Wigan and Bolton.
A win would lift Spurs up to 14th in the table and, more importantly, five points clear of the bottom three.

Spurs played poorly in the first half and despite a better second half performance and a great display by Dawson they concede two late goals.
A Gomes howler was to blame for the first and (perhaps due to a clash during the first goal) he also seemed slow to react to the second. Although the well slotted shot by Jadsan would have perhaps beaten an onform Gomes anyway.
We’re going need our striking boots on next week at the Lane to stay in the Cup.
On Sky Sports TV Dawson says: “Next week is going be an uphill struggle.”

Spurs concede a second as Shakhtar Donetsk slot home (Jadsan 89).
Spurs need to pull one back to keep a victory back at the Lane for the second leg next week reachable.
Bostok has come on for Dean Parrett as a late sub.
Spurs need to score.

As Super Spurs feared at half time Spurs have conceded a late second half goal (79). While Spurs have been playing better this second half they haven’t threatened Shakhtar Donetsk net.
Gomes is down injured after the headed goal by Seleznov (an inspired late Shakhtar Donetsk substitution).
Gomes continues.
Spurs are a goal down with ten minutes left to play.

A slow 45 mins has seen no goals. Spurs have been under pressure but created a couple of good chances (with a shot at the near post from the edge of the box by Dos Santos). A good score line for Spurs so far but not a very good performance, more is needed in the second half to ease the pressure of a late Shakhtar Donetsk winner.
Spurs must push out their half and attack the Shakhtar Donetsk goal.
